Ho Ho Ho ... A Tree for My Studio Window Display - USTREAM

 Okay...  last night was fun.  I thought I was totally crazy for broadcasting the night before my Grand Opening (which is in just a few hours.... Saturday 10 - 4) but I am sooooo happy I did.  I needed to do something creative and this hit the spot!

This is a 24x36 canvas that I created using Crafter's Workshop Templates, Perfect Pigments from USArtQuest and some silks by LuminArte  ...  oh...  there there are some Faber Castell Big Brush Pens and UTEE in there too *smile*

Saturday 10 - 4 (I said the right, *wink*) we'll have some nibblies, a chance to play with some product in our make n takes, and there just might even be a gift with purchase .....   you never know *wink*.

USTREAM follow up - Ruffle Necklace and Shrink Charms

Hello Everyone!
thank you so much for joining me last night on USTREAM.  I love creating these broadcasts and LOVE that you join me!

Last night I created this Ruffled Necklace using some scrap muslin, my "striped stem" stamp set from myStamp BOX and some Lumiere paints (and my sewing machine)

And then I created some Shrink embellishments to dangle from another chain with this necklace and for a flower clip shown here:

I think this might just be attached to the necklace...  or perhaps be in my hair.  hummm....  *wink*

Because of technical difficulties, last night's broadcast was recorded in 2 parts.  Here they are.  HAVE FUN!

Oh Balls! Ustream Follow Up

Well, what can I say about this evening...  interesting!! and full of chuckles!  THANK YOU to all of you who were able to join me live this evening on USTREAM as I created this fabric flower to wear at CHA next month.   Too funny!

I created the pattern on the canvas with Textile Paints, Markers and PITT Pens, did a little stamping and then sewed it onto some Armature Wire to create the flower shape.  Add a "ball" and there you have it!! *wink*

Painting up a Storm ....

of circle flowers? *smile*  Nothing like a little paint on the hands to start the week off right!

E came into the studio yesterday for a canvas class and I was thrilled to have her.  Love teaching canvas making.  So fun!  Especially when you get to paint with your fingers!!! *wink*

E's final creation -- LOVE IT!!  Makes me want to make one with Orange fleurs!!  ... love the "Art Is" template added with Light Molding Paste too! (Size 12x16)

Do More of What Makes You Happy - USTREAM

Okay -- I loved creating this canvas inspired by the lovely and talented Stephanie Ackerman  who very graciously joined us on USTREAM tonight!  Thank you, Stephanie.  So glad you could join us!!

So here's the story - I saw a canvas that Stephanie posted on facebook that truely inspired me, so I commented and asked her if I could create my own version of it on my USTREAM broadcast tonight.  She said yes and voila...  this is what I created!  A canvas within a canvas.....

I wrote a quote out on watercolour paper and then used my watercolours to "rainbow" colour it.  Painted a 12x24 canvas with a couple of little textural elements in gesso and molding paste and then cut up and adhered the watercolour painting.  Add some PanPastel shading and there you have it!  A canvas that does make me happy!

My internet did cut out on me tonight so there are two vids here.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them!!

Spirit Girl flies a Kite

Painting again....   samples this time but FUN samples!!

Here is a canvas (6x12) I created yesterday to showcase some of my studio products when I'm at the Coast to Coast show in Mississauga next weekend.  Whatcha think?  Ain't she cute?   Love Suzi Blu Stamps!

This is Spirit Girl by Suzi Blu.  I painted her with the new Letraset Aqua Markers.  I was a little skeptical about a watercolour marker but Whoa Baby!  Me LIKE!   Love the vibrancy of these markers.  I'll have to show you in a future USTREAM broadcast ...  but I digress....  back to the painting.

If you look closely - you will see I collaged the background with scrapping papers (She Art paper by Pink Paisley as I had some left over scraps from ScrapFest) used some Crafter's Workshop templates and paint, stamped with Christy Tomlinson's She Art background stamps, used Light Molding Paste  to add some "flower" dimension on the "ground" Spirit Girl is standing on AND then highlighted with Terra Paint from Viva Decor, some Golden Bead Gel (on and under the clouds) and some Inka Gold too!  Phew!  Loved every minute of it!  Hope you like!

I loved Spirit Girl so much I decided to use her image on a "smile" card to my young pen pal -- Here's what I made her (mom, please don't show her until it arrives!!)  I painted her with the Aqua Markers too.. so pretty.

Painting for the Love of it!

Words cannot describe my need to paint this week and I finally had the chance to put aside all the "business" things for a bit and just CREATE! Oh how I missed that.

Here is the fruit of that labour. Jen calls it my finger painting - teehee

Yes, I used my fingers for parts of it but if you look closely you will also see some template and pen work going on. Lots and lots of scrumptious layers. I was in my happy place.

I wish for you some creative play this week -- it's good for the soul!
