I am home from our annual retreat at the Nottawasaga Resort. What a wonderful weekend ... I can't believe it was our last one BUT on to other exciting things that I can't wait to share with you. What a wonderful way to cap off a 9 year tradition.

This year's Nott Retreat was an absolute blast!! It was a Roaring 20s theme and I had some silent movies playing, a mocktail or two and some dress up stuff.... see :) hehehe

..... and we had a whole lotta happy singers and dancers too - impromptu karaoke anyone? If it wasn't for all the paper and glue I would have thought I was out on the town with friends! hehe Love you guys -- thank you for such a wonderful weekend "flappin" and "scrappin". *smile*

Crafter's Workshop is in the "house"!

The NEW Crafter's Workshop Templates arrived at the studio late yesterday and I spent the evening going through and posting them in the online store.

FABULOUS!!! and just in time for the retreat.

I will be packing the store today in preparation for our retreat on the weekend. *Reminder: the Studio will be closed Friday and Saturday this week for the event at the Nottwasaga and will re-open Tuesday for our regular hours* Online orders: Please note we will do our best to fill all orders but in stock quantities may differ because of the retreat. They will be updated again when we return. Orders will be filled in the order in which they came in.

NEW Stamp Heaven!!

Last night was Art Journal Night -- there were just a few of us creating but BOY, did we have fun!

We got out the Pan Pastels and broke open some of Christy Tomlinson's new SheArt Stamps with Unity.. Love love love!!! And so do you apparently ... I already have to re-order some! *wink* The samples here are in various stages of completion. Thanks for letting me take photos, ladies!

I just wanted to make special mention of something we all loved....

Leanne created a page using a reverse inked mask (new from Prima) and the SheArt stamp... Wanting to keep her in "shades", we love how she shaded the girl stamp with black Pan Pastel. So stunning... don't you think?
Can't wait to see it when she's done!!

Happy Valentines Day

I came across this musical inspiration -- thought I'd share.

USTREAM follow up - Happiness is finding solutions...

Okay .. it was an interesting night. I think if it could go wrong it did. Amusing? Depends on if it's you doing it! LOL Awe... shucks... It was fun.

So what did I learn....?
1) When spritzing doilies, make sure to LIFT (not slide) if you don't want smear the ink
2) Always heat set your ink (even archival) before applying Pan Pastel (Smudge!)
3) Drawing/Doodling comes naturally accept when you're recording
4) WiFi access is not reliable
5) Keep your fingers out of the paint if you're not finger painting
6) Make sure you're ink is dry before stamping an image for embossing -- embossing powder will stick to everything
7) .... there was more I'm sure.... Oh, here's one from "off camera"
8) When framing your piece, make sure it's right side up! See... Yes, this was my first kick at the can. Why should that go smoothly?! LOL

So, last night was one of those nights... but I had fun anyway and I love my little fishies for the tables at the retreat at the end of the month. Totally cute. And I created something with white space! yay me!! I never do that. LOL

myStamp Box - CHA 2012

I can finally share!!

I am honoured to "officially" release my new stamp designs produced by myStamp Box

I created 5 stamps for their 8 stamp CHA release: Striped Stems, Pixel Perfect, Lovely Houses (which coordinate wonderfully with Whimsical Houses template released with Crafter's Workshop, BTW), Special Teas and Enjoy Your Latte.

Over the next couple of weeks I'll be sharing with you some of the projects I created with these stamps for the CHA Winter Show in Anaheim... I hope you enjoy!

The stamps retail for $15.99 CDN and are now available in the studio and in our online store.
