The End of Another Season...

Alas, the Fall Go Scrapping season has ended. I will miss everyone until the new year. I have been busy finalizing the 2007 schedule and have posted some of the events online already!! I am excited to announce a new online Layout Contest co-sponsored by Go Scrapping, 3M and Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine starting next week!!! I will make a HUGE announcement but I had to leave a teaser here for all to see!!

I am trying to post a slide show of some of my layouts. All going well you should be able to see them on this site!! Hope you Enjoy! I promise to keep updating the site -- Yes regularly to keep you all informed of my "happenings".

I just finished uploading the Weekly Go Scrapping Online Class. This Class, an Advent Door Hanger designed by Sheri East is sooooo cute! I will have to do this project FOR SURE!! Visit the Go Scrapping Site to download the instructions

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
This is a big time of year for my family. My Birthday is the week of Thanksgiving (Oct 4) and my parents anniversary is October 8 (always falls on Thanksgiving weekend) so there is always something etc special to be thankful for this holiday season.

The Blog Challenge on the Go Scrapping Message Board this week is to tell everyone what you are thankful for. I have been thinking a lot about this -- I have a lot to be thankful for and am not sure if I can express it all here but, here it goes.

I am thankful for my entire family -- immediate and extended.
My husband, of course, we have been through a lot together in the 11 years we have been married and through it all our commitment to each other has been a blessing and has kept us together through thick and thin. My daughter is the Joy in my life. As I am sitting here writing this Blog, she is "styling" my hair and giving me hugs... Love my little girl. My parents, inlaws (or out-laws, depending on how you look at it :) , my sister and brother and sister in law, my niece, everyone has contributed to my life and have made me who I am today. To them, I am thankful.

I am thankful for my friends, my extended Go Scrapping family, my health, the fact that I always have enough: enough food in the fridge, enough gas in my car, enough heat in the winter and air in the summer, enough things to make my life comfortable so that I need for nothing. My life may not be glitzy but I have a scrapbook full of love and memories and a camera to capture more -- what else can I ask for??

This weekend I am at the trailer getting ready to close it up for the season. But first, I am taking a road trip to Chatham with Judy and Sheri from my Design Team and a couple other Go Scrapping friends. We are completing a CD Album at the LSS and I am really looking forward to it! :) I think it will make an awesome gift!!! Love Road Trips (yes, something else to be thankful for)

This week I will be busy organizing more Go Scrapping Events and getting ready for the upcoming Barrie Crop and the CreativFestival in Toronto on the 19-22. Lots to do but I wouldn't have it any other way!!! Can't wait! Hope to see you all soon!

Okay, Okay

Better Late than never....Right?? Sorry I have been "tardy" posting on my blog. I have been busy busy busy and it seems that the blog posts get pushed to the "to do" pile. Sorry Ladies (and any gents out there reading this too) I will be sure to make a better effort to keep this baby up to date! I promise!

Go Scrapping had its first 2006 Fall Day Crop on Sept 23 in Cambridge. What a blast! It was great to see everyone after a summer of picture taking and I was thrilled to meet 24 new Go Scrapping Croppers at this event. I "crowned" two new groupies (Yahoo!!) and "promoted" Leesa and Mat to "Platinum Groupie Status" too. Jen and I took pictures during the event and will post them on the Go Scrapping Website as soon as I get them (we used Jen's camera that day).

I was at the London Scrapbook Expo this weekend. I was there to help Hannah (Scrapping Turtle) at her booth. It was a great show with a really great attendance. Congratulations to the organizers!

After the show I went to Leesa's Birthday Party. I won't tell you how old she is (she'd kill me if I did)I will say that I was thrilled to be invited!! It was so nice to see the "groupie posse " in their homes, meet their scrubbys and see the scrap lair :) Thanks again for the invite -- I had a FANTASTIC time!!

This is going to be another hectic week. My DH is going to the trailer for the week with his dad and brother. Some nice Father/Son bonding time. DH and FIL went to the trailer this time last year as well. Looks like this may become a annual tradition for the Ellis men. I'm glad. It's good for them -- and it gets DH out of my hair LOL.....Just kidding *sort of* ;)

I am teaching a card class at Simply Scrapping on Tuesday. Looking forward to getting back into the teaching mode again. I just love it! And the Barrie Day Crop and the CreativFestival are just around the corner so I will be working on getting everything ready for those events too! Yahoo!!

Wow... So much going on! Where to start??

I am thrilled to announce that Go Scrapping has its first Design Team in place! Yahoo! I had 30 very qualified submissions and had to "pear" it down to only 6. A tough decision for sure but I am really happy with the team that I have in place. The DTs are Sheri, Judy, Share, Erica, Lori and Nancy. Their work can be viewed in Go Scrapping's Layout Gallery. I hope you all take the time to drop by, chat and see some of the amazing work submitted by the Go Scrapping Community. I am in the process of posting the Design Team Bios, etc on the website. We had our first online meeting last night and I am really excited about the coming year. Thank you again to all who submitted work for this call. I really appreciate your interest in Go Scrapping and look forward to chatting with you more on the message board!! Congratulations team!

The first crop of the fall season is coming up fast! We are almost sold out and I can't wait to see everyone again -- and your summer pictures :) I have been busy getting the new project kits together for their launch at the crop. Sheri, Jenn and I are putting the finishing touches on them now and I am excited to offer them this year. New T-Shirts are coming too!! I just heard from the printers ... they will be ready on time! *another Yahoo!!*

Erica has been posting Blog challenges on the Messageboard. This week's challenge is to describe 5 weird Things about you... so here it goes:

• I have a "Fake Face" LOL .. I had facial reconstructive surgery when I was 14. I don't have feeling in my chin (have to watch cause it can get pretty messy sometimes... Yuck!!)
• I am incredibly organized about everything except.... my house :)
• I truly believe the Irons are for Scrapbooking, not Clothes
• I have to have some background noise on at all times -- usual source of sound? The TV. (in fact, back (eons ago) when I was in school I would literally take my work to pubs and cafes to write essays, complete assignments, etc..... Strange, I know
• I have always had affinity for geeks (present husband included) LOL

I can't end this weeks blog without saying something about Sept 11.
I can 't believe 5 years have passed since terrorists attacked the US. My heart still goes out to the friends and family of everyone that lost someone that day. I was glued to the news yesterday (watched and listened to CNN in my car) All three memorials were very touching and inspired me to finally scrap the event. The layout is posted here. I created this LO so that it has a chipboard folder... the second image is what the layout looks like when opened. Stay safe, hug your family and cherish life..... and by all means, scrap it!

Some of the ladies on my message board have been calling Back to School the True New Year.
New goals, new schedules, back to routines, new duds... Everything starts fresh! How true it is!! So.... HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Emily started grade 5 today! Wow...Can't believe it. I took some back to school pics and they are all ready to scrapbook. Thought I'd share one with you :)

The school has had a face lift over the summer. Some portables were removed, more open space was created and fresh paint touch ups all round. Looks awesome...... I'm so glad that she won't be in a portable anymore. Never really did like those things (she liked them though - Go Figure)

Kellie had her post OP appointment today in Rochester. The 12 staples in her abdomen were removed and she was allowed to go home -- 25 lbs lighter I might add. Holy Cow! That's a lot in a week. She was thrilled to learn that she can now have some pureed food. She was originally told it would be a couple more weeks before that happened. She's craving a little mashed potato at this point -- lets face it ... Any solid food would do. Anything with a little flavour!! She has been living off of water, jello, slimfast and blended yoghurt. I think its growing old really fast! I haven't received her one week photo yet. I'll share it with you once I get it.

I received more submissions for the Go Scrapping Design Team this week. There are so many wonderfully talented scrapbookers out there! The DT decisions I make in a couple of days will be really hard. Thank you to everyone who has submitted work for this. It's all really exciting!

Surgery Complete.....

Today was the day that my sister had Gastric Bypass Surgery. I thought I would take the time to blog now as I am not sure if I will be able to be at my computer much for the rest of the week. Kellie got through the surgery fine and is in hospital recovering right now. We'll know more about how she is doing tomorrow when she fully wakes up.

I snapped a couple of photos of her for her album. I am (with her help of course) doing a scrapbook for her of her surgery, her successes and her thoughts (that is where she comes in :) ) I thought I'd share a couple with you.

Now, before you gore junkies out there think that I am going to show you pics of her after surgery.... Sorry to disappoint you. I think she'd kill me if I posted those. I did select three
"shots" to share. The first is a picture of me kissing her on the forehead before she was wheeled into the OR ***a collective ahhhhhhhhhh....***. The second is an after surgery picture of the boot that they put on her feet to prevent blood clotting. I had never seen that before and thought it interesting. The third is a pic of Emily holding her hand after surgery. The look on her face says it all -- she was (and still is) worried about her "Aunts".

Today Hannah (from the Scrapping Turtle, St Jacobs) and I went the a wholesalers open house. They just moved their warehouse and this weekend was their "new grand opening" (so to speak).

There was lots of stuff to see. Some of the new products from CHA came in and I did a little buying for Go Scrapping's Design Team. Very cool stuff! Can't wait to play :)

Speaking of playing, I was at the "Turtle" last night cropping with a couple of gals from their board (much to my "Scrubby's" dismay as it was our 11th Wedding Anniversary :) ). While there, I started my wedding album using the new Cosmo Cricket paper line. I figured if I wasn't spending the evening with my Scrubby, then I should at least scrapbook the event that we should have been celebrating :) Yes, he is very much a scrapbooking widow! Before you all shake your fingers at me, Kevin and I did go have a great anniversary lunch at the Keg. It was nice to Pick him up from work and take him out - especially since I have been at the trailer for the majority of the summer.
