That's right ladies!! I am REALLY enjoying my summer and relishing those fabulous photo opportunities!! I just had to share summer vacation excitement with you!
GET OUT THOSE CAMERAS!!
What a better way to celebrate summer than with a Photo Contest!
Before you start saying "my photos aren't good enough" -- this contest will have absolutely no judges!! To participate: Post a link to one of your favourite photos from the Summer of 2008 in the comment section of this post. The winner will be picked randomly by using the Random Integer Generator that I used for the Basic Grey Give A Way. The pictures can be of any subject -- the only requirement is that you post ONE PICTURE taken no earlier than June 2008.
The winner will receive a set of "Post It" stamps by Melissa Frances.
Here are two totally different pics from my summer so far..... just to inspire you!
The Winner will be posted on August 15 so you have some time take and share. Can't wait to see your photos!

technical difficulties.....
I know I said I would post some fun tips and tricks videos starting this month....
unfortunately, my summer "dial up" situation is preventing me from posting these little gems.
Sooooo, look for the little demos in the fall when I am home, in my studio, with a high speed cable connection.
more to come. I promise!

CHA - Day 3
A short day... but a good one ;)
I was only able to be at the show from 9AM - 2PM because of flights, etc. That may seem like a lot but TRUST me... time flies!
Right off the bat I went back to the Ranger booth (being sure to inhale some delicious chocolate smells from the Rusty Pickle Booth located beside it :) ). I went back there to specifically take some pics of the samples they had "littering" it. Such beautiful creations!! I certainly can't post them all here but here's a Layout and an altered clipboard to wet your whistle.
Sue Weinberg was there demoing so I moseyed on up to her counter to get in the action. I love playing with "stuff" and, as many of you know, I love her melt art/UTEE and artsy collages. I use many of her techniques on a smaller scale in my creations so I was thrilled to get some play time with her! Take a look at what she made me:
She used melted beewax for this, some stamps, rubons, stickles, foil... my oh my!! I am soooo inspired! Can't wait to play!! Here are a couple more of her creations to spark your creativity!
Okay, Okay - If I didn't go to the Basic Grey Booth I would be in a lot of trouble with the message board gals. So here you go ladies.
Kelly Goree (Basic Grey Artist) was there doing their make n take -- A notebook that she designed using the new GRANOLA line. I created one with her and will give it away randomly to someone who would like it (A Kelly Goree design created by Karen Ellis :) ...hehehehe). Just leave a comment in this thread (let me know that you would like it) and I will select a lucky recipient in a couple of days.
I HAD to go to the Little Yellow Bicycle Booth (It was sooooo cute). I really like their releases as well. Here is your sneak peek for it:
Taking a look at the time - I had to run waaaaaay across the building to the Maya Road booth. I just had to take this picture to show you:
Love this fun and funky look!!
So, here are the last two pics of the show. Both taken at te Maya Road booth (which was always busy -- they have some GREAT new releases too and I know you will be seeing them at your LSS soon!! And yes, that's Jon loving the show. I hope we can go to Orlando next year.... crossing my fingers.
Thanks for following my CHA experience. Keep checking back -- there might be some BLOG stuff happening later this week (Does that tickle your interest??) -- And Don't forget to let me know if you would like the notebook :)

CHA Day 2
Well, here you go: the Day 2 day re-cap.
The morning started off with a bang and a little chocolate dip at the Rusty Pickle Booth :) :
...and yes, that is Jon being "dipped' in chocolate (not really though but good thought, eh?) The Chefs at Rusty Pickle are Jon fans too so of course he had to make an appearance.
The new Rusty Pickle lines are FABULOUS and I hear will be released monthly now. How great is that?? A little something Rusty every month. They might be hard to get month here in Canada (because of shipping reasons) but its good to know there will always be something new :) Take a look at these papers in action:
So, I'm standing at the Pickle Booth and who do I spy??
Yep, Tim Holtz! The Ranger booth was right beside it and he was there about to get ready to do some demos. And what FAB demos they were. Inks, Perfect Pearls, stamps, mists, and more!! Thatboy sure knows how to hold a crowd!
Know who else can hold a crowd? Claudine Hellmuth!
Her new studio paints are TO DIE FOR!! Love how they go on a cover everything. She has a winner with this one! And her canvas papers are self adhesive and artist quality too. Gotta love it. She's such a sweetheart and I learned lots. Thanks Claudine!
I had to tear myself away from these fabulous designers to go take pictures of the Bo Bunny Booth so the lovely ladies on the messageboard could see. Bo Bunny was one of the booths that they were interested in.
You are not going to believe this summer's Bo Bunny Release. It is stunning!
I can see this stuff FLYING off the shelves. I know I will be buying it -- Just look at the fab stuff you can create with these lines:
Right around the corner from Bo Bunny booth was Wendy McKeehan and Kitty Foster signing one of their latest books: Fabulous Friendships -- so, I got in line and picked me up a copy :) Here they are after signing my book:
After getting the book signed - I wondered around the corner and spotted Kelly Panacci and her hubby Mario hosting a make n take at the Sandylion booth.
It was a wonderful mini album using one of her lines -- and it also included lots of stamping so you know I was happy :). I got to chatting with them. Such a nice couple. I look forward to keeping in touch! YAY Canada!
After a long day of designer inspiration I ended up here:
...with my feet on a Foot Massager! :) This little vibrating contraption was located in the Orlando Booth, yep, you heard correctly - Orlando. Looks like the CHA summer show will be there next summer. Not sure what I think of that but what will be will be....
tons of booth shots tomorrow :)

More CHA Updates to come BUT.....
Guess who I saw today??
Some Go Scrapping Store Sponsors!!!
Kim from The Scrapping Bug and Stunning ladies from Scrapbook and Cards Today :) :
Lori from Memory Mill checking out the Copic Pens:
And here's Elizabeth from A Scrapbookers Dream ... who had to take a picture with Jon :) hehe...
I went out to dinners and spent some ordering times with Lucy and Stephanie from Simply Scrapping -- I only have pictures of them at dinner, not at the show (Strange but true) and since I don't think Lucy wanted her big juicy meal on the blog (hehe) I won't paste it here.
I also saw Lori and Hannah from the Scrapping Turtle, Joanne, Donna and Yvonne from The Learning Factory, the fabulous gals from Sweetie Pea Designs.
Lets just say there is lots of GREAT things coming to a store near you!!!
I will Blog Some more about the show later... There is just so much to post and I am "fading fast" :)

CHA Show - Day 1
OMG, There just aren't enough hours in the day!!
I didn't even make a dent at the show -- So much for "FOR SURE", as I didn't even make it to the Prima Booth! I WILL do that on Day 2. In fact, I will make a "B" line for it. I did, however, see some GREAT stuff!
Have any of you heard of Kodomo? They are the greatest. Their lines are all Asian inspired and truly beautiful. I was introduced to them a couple of CHAs ago by Miss Sheri and I love them -- very artsy, very cool (especially for me now with my hubby in Japan quite often now ... think of all those pictures :) ). Anyway, I did their make n take right off the bat because they were the first booth I saw right by the door. They had a fabulous card make n take that I participated in, Asian inspired of course, and you just might see at a future class or event. It wasn't your traditional card. Take a look at these stamps. They are MOUNTED on ACRYLIC and you see a coloured version of the stamp -- stunning and different. Two things I like :):
I checked out a few other exhibitors and then stumbled on ScrapBlog. The lovely Stefanie gave me a tutorial and I think I may play with this a bit. It looks pretty interesting. www.scrapblog.com for those who are interested in checking it out. I will post some more on this later after I have time to play. Thanks for the tutorial Stefanie.
Eye spy Jenni Bolin! Yep... She was there with a brand new booth showcasing her paper and embellie lines. I LOVE this stuff. A modern Shabby -- Totally my style. I had a great chat with Jenni -- Here she is with me in her booth (she's such a wee thing, so sute :) hehe ):
And here are some of the fabulous samples decorating her booth. Ask you LSS for this one. You'll love it!
And Look! I ran into the Piggy Tales gals again and I did their sweet "slider" make n take. I know I said it before but these gals are great! Here are Brandon and myself in front of their Old King Cole line :) Gotta Love it!
I did do another couple of stamping make and takes and then met Lucy and Stephanie from SImply Scrapping at the Tim Holtz/Advatus Booth
...they were buying up a storm :)
We all had an appointment before our RUSTY PICKLE class at American Crafts so we headed over there to see whats new -- OMG you are going to LOVE the new Thickers! And I was told they changed the adhesive so crossing my fingers here cause I love them. I realized when I got back to the hotel that I didn't take any pictures here (my bad) -- oh well, they are shipping now so they will be in your stores soon :)
So yes, I finally met Mr Pickle (Lance) in person :)
Gotta love this man! Such agreat teacher!! We completed a really cool project and he chatted about teaching tips and flogged the new products WHICH ARE MANY! I am heading to the booth today so I will take lots of pics.
For those of you who actually know me, or read my personal blog, you know I love Jon Bon Jovi and I love RUSTY PICKLE. I entered and won Rusty Pickle's May Blog Contest with a layout of JBJ and I recognised the names of some of the girls from the blog (they were helping out Lance in the class) so I introduced myself -- They were so gracious! Thanks for voting for me ladies :) If you read my personal blog you know I carry a little Jon "action figure" with me and do a "where in the world is JBJ". When I told the girls this -- they wanted to see Jon and take a pic sooooo here we are :)
See you at your booth ladies!
After our class, Lucy, Stef and I went for dinner and chatted about the day. It was a busy one. Looking forward to DAY 2!

CHA is Here!!!
It is 8:07am local time and I am eagerly anticipating the opening of CHA's Summer Show 2008.
I arrived yesterday morning and was able to take a couple of FABULOUS Classes.
The first class was with my new friend Trisha Ladoceur and her Primadonna Partner:) doing a FABULOUS Build A Book.
I also had the opportunity to take a class by the gals at Piggy Tales. What lovely girls -- such a welcome group of people that own this company. And their stuff is so cute.
We worked on this project using their Drawbridge Board Books. The pages flip up, down and out and close so perfectly. I think these will be a hit for them FOR SURE.
Guess who came into the class at the end of our work time -- Catherine and Kerry from Scrapbook and Cards today!!! How great it was to see them! They passed out a copy of their latest issue and told the store owners in the class about the book and how it works -- FREE TO YOU the Consumer!! :) You should have seen their eyes light up! That's soooo great! Congrats Catherine and Kerry! Can't wait to see how your mag keeps growing!
I enjoyed a taste of Rosemount after my classes. I big selection of local restaurants came to the convention centre and offered free samples of their delicacies :) Yum Yum.... What a great touch. Then it was off to the launch party for SEI. They have some yummy stuff!! I couldn't get to the samples with a camera easily or I would have taken pics. I will see about taking pics at their booth later. I hope they are good with that!!!
It is now 8:36 local time here.... Off to get the shuttle for the show opening! Yippee!! I will post highlights later today!
